Dennis Altman

Professor Dennis Altman AM is the son of Jewish refugees and a writer and academic who first came to attention with the publication of his book Homosexual: Oppression & Liberation (1971). He is a Professorial Fellow in Human Security at La Trobe University and has published thirteen books, most recently The End of the Homosexual? (2013) and (with Jon Symons) Queer Wars (2016). In 2006, The Bulletin listed Dennis as one of the 100 most influential Australians ever, and he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008.
