Danielle Charak OAM was born in Belgium prior to World War 2 and migrated to Australia in 1949. In 1959 she graduated from the University of Melbourne, trained as a Secondary teacher, a career she pursued for almost 60 years. She worked as a broadcaster and journalist in the Yiddish language program at Radio SBS. Currently she is Panel Chair of the VCE Yiddish examination. Danielle has been involved in the community for over 50 years. She is currently active on the Kadimah committee.
